About the Author...

Auryn Kent lives in the Pacific Northwest, where she spends many solitary hours running through old-growth forests, lost in thought. Her habit of creating stories first took root during her childhood as she grew up in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains. With a head full of the mysterious worlds of J.R.R. Tolkien and Ursula K. Le Guin, she charged into the spectacular landscapes around her, looking for an epic new world that she could call her own.

Her passion for nature, philosophy, and fantasy led to a side trip into the realm of theoretical Physics, in which she holds a master’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. But after meeting and marrying an engineer, raising three children and two dogs, she found herself looking back to the mountains and forests, where her mind wandered still. And then slowly, but surely, the Soul Forge emerged.
